Community Outreach Recital
Programs may vary, some of which may include volunteer work for the community. Performances for COR are held at various community facilities. This program allows students to receive credit for participating in community outreach through music and interaction with the residents. Students may take part in a 60-75 minute concert program depending on the scheduled event. There is a maximum of 5 minutes per student performance. Students (Grades 6-12 only) will be given a verification letter of community service upon request for completion of the program.

- Applications are based on a first-come, first served bases. (Priority is given to students grades 6-12.) Please be sure all information is precise and accurate, especially the timing of pieces (no rounding up.) All incomplete applications will be returned to the teacher.
- Due to limited space and timing, there is a limit of THREE (3) students per teacher allowed. Due to capacity, applications will be on a first-come, first-served basis, no matter the student's age.
- Students are to adhere to the same guidelines as listed in the “Recital Rules” and “Dress Code.”
- Deadlines for all applications are 1 month prior to the actual recital date. Once submitted, the teacher has 7 days to make any changes. After 7 days, there can be NO changes to the application.
- The cost of the registration is $10.00. The maximum time allowed is up to 5 minutes only, with a maximum of 1 piece.
- All pieces must be memorized, except piano ensemble pieces. No Xerox copies are allowed.
- Selection of music should be appropriate to the respective audience members (i.e. avoid loud, dissonant, or dark music). Any arrangement of music is acceptable.
- Due to limited space, priority seating is for residents and students. Parents are kindly asked to sit toward the rear of the auditorium and refrain from bringing bulky items (i.e. strollers, etc.) with them. In addition, guests must park in the designated areas only (“Guest Parking”) or on the street. Parents are asked to minimize disturbances from younger children so as not to distract the performer.
- Performers are to remain seated until the end of the program. They may leave and enter the room only when there is no performance.
- NO talking or visiting with friends allowed during the performance.
- NO flash photography is allowed. Videotaping is only allowed from the back of the room.
- In order to receive full verification credit hours, students MUST stay for the entire duration of the recital.
- Incomplete applications will not be accepted.
