Achievement Award Recital

This recital is to encourage and award the students who have performed repertoire from FOUR (4) different music periods during the year. Trophies will be awarded to each qualified participant.

ELIGIBILITY
  1. In order to be eligible to receive an award, students must perform a total of FOUR (4) different music periods throughout the MTAC fiscal year (August 1st—July 31st)
  2. ​A minimum of ONE (1) piece must be performed at any of the Branch Programs, except for CM and Branch Honors. Pieces performed at any Community Outreach Recitals are also eligible. Arrangements are not considered toward eligibility.
  3. A minimum of TWO (2) different period pieces must be performed at the Achievement Award Recital.
  4. Repertoire must be selected from the following music periods: Baroque, Classical, Romantic, Impressionistic, Contemporary**.
 **NOTE: For a categorized list of composers and music periods, please refer to “Composer's Dates & Countries” which can be found on Section 5—Reference of the CM 2012 Keyboard Syllabus. (For other instruments, please refer to each specific syllabus.)

APPLICATIONS/REGISTRATION (revised SEPT 2023)
  1. Teachers must be sure to use only the specified application form when enrolling students sent by the Program Chair.
  2. It is necessary for the teacher to list the following information on the application form in order for the application to be complete.
    1. Repertoire
    2. Composer
    3. Branch event of the piece(s) performed
    4. Period of Music
  3. All applications will be verified by the Program Chair.
  4. Application Fees:
            $30.00/5 minutes 
            $32.00/8 minutes 
            $35.00/11 minutes
  1. The deadline to submit applications and check for registration fees is ONE (1) month prior to the Achievement Award Recital.
  2. Teachers must mail the fees in one check with the Event Fee Submission Form to the Achievement Award Recital Chair.
