Achievement Award Recital
This recital is to encourage and award the students who have performed repertoire from FOUR (4) different music periods during the year. Trophies will be awarded to each qualified participant.
ELIGIBILITY
APPLICATIONS/REGISTRATION (revised AUG 2017)
1. Teachers must be sure to use only the specified application form (headed ʻAchievement Award Recital Applicationʼ) when enrolling students. A copy of this application form can either be found in the directory on page 65, or obtained from the Program Chair.
2. It is necessary for the teacher to list the following information on the application form in order for the application to be complete:
a) Repertoire
b) Composer
c) Branch event where the piece was performed
d) Date when the piece was performed
e) Period of Music
3. All applications will be verified by the Program Chair.4. Application Fees: $30.00 - up to 5 minutes; $32.00 - up to 8 minutes; $35.00 - up to 11 minutes
4. The deadline to submit applications and check for registration fees is ONE (1) month prior to the Achievement Award Recital.
5. Teachers must mail in their applications and fees to the Achievement Award Recital Chair.
ELIGIBILITY
- In order to be eligible to receive an award, students must perform a total of FOUR (4) different music periods throughout the MTAC fiscal year (August 1st—July 31st)
- A minimum of ONE (1) piece must be performed at any of the Branch Programs, except for CM and Branch Honors. Pieces performed at any Community Outreach Recitals are also eligible.A minimum of TWO (2) different period pieces must be performed at the Achievement Award Recital.
- Studentsʼ repertoire must be selected from the following music periods: Baroque, Classical, Romantic, Impressionistic, Contemporary**.
